Check out this email that I just received. Sounds like R. Campi might be in a little trouble.
You guys might want to check to make sure that you didn't buy anything from him because there is a very good chance that you had the opprotunity.
what did you buy?
Can you get nailed for simply possessing it even though you didn't know it was stolen? |
Hide your dog motherfucker, you're going to Leavenworth!
ETA - Just kidding. You're probably fine dude, but I would at least call a lawyer before talking to NCIS. |
Can you please remove the SA's info from the bottom?
Thanks. Justin ETA: IM inbound. |
This...www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=25&t=336970 Ironic I was just trying to sell it, huh? If I get to keep it though, I'm either keeping it or the price is going up |
Well that's interesting..take a look at this thread where another ARFCOM member said he received an email about buying stolen government property. You guys may want to talk.
Page 8 of the thread, the 14th post by WWoodworth www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=109&t=335943&page=8 |
"at this point"....I would ignore the email entirely. If they really want info, they will find you.
forget the dog, he's at "watch out for your cornhole" right now |
I've got more free lawyers than you can shake a stick at....I'm not real worried about getting in trouble for it, I just hope I get to keep it now...this makes it more interesting. |
Nah, I'll give it back if they really want it. I'd rather keep it though. |
ETA: Thank you T_B_S. |
If I were you, I'd change the title to this thread, then delete it and call a lawyer who knows what they are doing.
Why? |
This fella really got around...
Here is the e-mail I received: > The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is conducting an > investigation into theft and sale of government property. It seems you may > have purchased a Phrobis USGI M9 Bayonet from Robert Campi back in 2003 > and > paid through PayPal. I am interested in talking to you about the > transaction > and was wondering if you would be willing to talk to us. At this point, we > are simply interested in gathering more details on the transaction and > gaining confirmation that you received the item. Please email me back at > this address or feel free to call me with any questions. Thank you. > <Personal information removed -- Defcon> |
Where did he ship yours to? Is it a bigger charge for selling stolen govt property and shipping it internationally? I hope they stick it to this guy. |
You guys can watch each other's backs in the showers! |
It was shipped out of country. |
That's what I thought. |
I just emailed them back and told them that I recently sold it to you. Watch for your email |
Cornhole queens I tell ya....you're all gonna be cornhole queens.
This why you used a MO, invisible cash |
you should go out and catch some nasty VD now so nobody will touch you in prison
So what was this guys screen name? I have bought a ton of stuff from the EE but never remember personal names.
I can't remember what name this guy goes by. It's been a little over a year since I bought the laser. |
Why do people continue to post the NCIS Agents information on an open forum?
Just curious? |
Are you asking why it is improper to post the contact information (including full name, address, and phone number) of a Military law enforcement agent? Think about that for a second... |
AILapua:
Please remove the Special Agent's personal contact info. Thanks. Justin |
Why are you so paranoid? It is someone's work contact information that they freely give out to a bunch of people and anyone could easily find out by themselves. It's not like I'm exposing a fucking CIA agent. |
It's not. They have my name, email address and date on when I purchased the laser. So they either: 1. Got if off this guys computer or 2. Got the information from Paypal Also, the email address and header check out. It's legit. |
I would talk to my lawyer and wait for a letter / phone call.
If they are serious you will get a letter and a visit. I would try to comply as best as I could, but don't incriminate yourself. Thats why you need a lawyer. The email could be a scam. |
thats for our government to do |
City Slicker will be known as Personal Info Nazi from now on. |
WHY??????? Are they better than anyone else? Pretty sure its public info anyhow! |
I've already told them that they can have it back. I don't really have any more info than they already have but told her that I'd help out with anything else I could. I have two whole offices full of lawyers at my disposal for free. Not counting the three or four more that I actually have to pay, so getting in trouble isn't anything that I'm really worried about. |
It's not even personal info. It's work info for a government employee. How can it get any more public? Some people are just crybaby know it alls...... |
Not "better"--or worse. We simply don't allow it and don't take chances--
"Talk to the nut sac baby"... Write them back with lots of threats and shit. Mention lots of firepower and crap that makes lots of noise when exposed to O2 and heat. See if it's for real or not. Let us know what happens. |
get rid of it, contact an attorney, and do not respond to that email
Yep..................same address www.ncis.navy.mil/contact/offices.cfm |
Dude...don't post that link. You'll get somebody killed or something! |
I just searched back 2 years on the archive server using your name as a "reply author" in the EE and found nothing. Not saying you are lying but I want to know this dudes screen name. |
You son of a bitch! I'm not lying! Just kidding...lots of times I don't reply to the thread, I just send an email or IM. I did just find out the guys screen name from my secret staff source. It's Nikzoe Michael |
I would seriously doubt they would use email to contact you. I had DOD come to my door to ask about an Interceptor I bought off eBay. They called first, and I would guess that is the protocol
Yeah, but this isn't an interceptor and this guy sold a bunch of these things. There are probably going to be quite a few more people getting these emails. I honestly don't think that they want it back, they are just trying to build up their case against this guy. Michael |
