Recorded (on VHS, yes I'm a caveman) American Idol from last week. This Chris Daughtry guy sang Walk The Line, it was an amazingly fresh version, my wife and I were blown away.

Anyone know where/if I can find a copy of his rendition?

Did you actually post the word "fresh" in a post on ARF.com?

Weirdly enough I expected that type of grade school response from someone. Is that all you got boy?

Given your taste in programming, you'd think a post consisting of pictures would be of appropriate mental complexity for you.

Well, if the wife say's "honey let's watch American Idol", I don't think you'd pass up the opportunity to win some brownie brown eye points.

Not sure, CV....but we've voted for Chris every week.  Chris is #1 and everyone else is playing for 2nd.  He's head and shoulders above the rest.  He reminds me of Larry Bird in the 3-point contest.

Combatvet is right. I didn't watch the show, but my wife never misses it. When he did the Johnny Cash song I was in the other room , surfing arfcom and I actually got up and went to watch when I heard it. The guy is too good to be an amateur competing on a show.

BTW, there was also a smokin' hot brunette in a skimpy dress singing her ass off too, so it can't be all gay.

That Chris guy sucks ass.  I can't believe anyone actually likes him.  Then again, people don't need to sing good today to get a fan base with rock music.  Every fucking thing he sings is filled with vibrato and it sounds awful.

GAH!   my fucking eyes!

Thanks for ruining my entire 80s experience.

Now whenever I think of MTV and the Goonies, there will be the imprint of fucking ALIEN SCHLONG in the neural phantoms trapped in my aging grey matter.   Thanks a lot.   Asshole.

What I want to know ... who the fuck sits down and photoshops something like that?

Despite being a huge fan of Live, I didn't know they had a Greatest Hits album out, and I've never heard their version of 'Walk the Line'. I can definitely see where this guy ripped them off though, it absolutely sounds like a Live song.

Watched the show last night and I thought I heard him say that he was a big fan of Live.

Everything he sings sounds like them.

Show sucked hard last night.

It is OK, I have already turned in my Man Card and my wife lets me visit my nuts once in a while.

There are some similiarities to the live version, but you cannot dispute this guy has a big future ahead of him. A few of you will eat their words when his first album goes triple platinum. The guy can sing and makes being bald cool looking, wtf is up with the eybrows though.

You know, I tend to agree with that.

He IS a pretty good performer, by karaoke standards, and he does add another element to Idol the others don't, but his vibrato is terrible, and he doesn't control it.

He sings like he's never really recorded himself and listened back to it.  If he did that, he would hear the vibrato problem (unless he's deaf or arrogant) and correct it.

He's also weird looking and way too short to be the winner.

Stupid show.
