Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Ipod/Itune gurus help

Okay so my g/f is running out of space on her hard-drive and we couldnt figure out why.
So we did some searching and Itunes is making a copy of the songs she gets from our network and putting them in a folder on her hard drive.

Can we just delete those or will they some how ruin her ipod or Itune expeirance?
