It's just a matter of time. Perhaps when Spanish is the dominant language in Montana people will begin to pull their heads out of the sand.

Truth is, Mexicans come up here, get a taste of the good life, and see further immigration as a threat to their (newcomer) place on the totem pole. Result: Many become ardent anti-immigrationists out of fear for theor own tenuous position in society.

The only source of new support for the DEMOS is immigration as rest of their core constituency groups are either stagnating or in serious decline. New immigrants, especially those from countries with no history of freedom, will be easy pickings for DEMOS (much like our Irish immigrants in Boston as century ago). And you just know how they'll be persuaded to vote.

And G. Dubya was really considering giving amnesty to 3 million more? Creating 3 million more instant DemocRATS? Thank God someone woke him up from that dream he was having.
Didn't we do that amnesty crap back in 1986? Gee, you don't think that had the effect of encouraging more to come in hopes of getting in on the next amnesty, do you? America is a melting pot, so melt, or get the *&$% out. If that doesn't work, there are a lot of rifles in Texas. Jarhead out. |

The thing is they tend to become assimilated, just like the Asians. After a few generations in the USA mexican girls are marrying white guys.
