Smith and Wesson and my company have just developed a new line of gun care products. I've been fortunate enough to test the new line. The first thing you'll notice is the packaging, each can has a gold cap shaped like a hollow point pistol bullet. All the cans are silver and blue. They are going to offer:
Advanced gun oil
premium protectant lubricant
dry lube
heavy duty bore cleaner
synthetic safe bore and action cleaner
premium bore gel

I've used them all and and am VERY happy with the performance of all of them. They will be available soon.

That packaging alone will sell quite a few pieces, whether it's crap or good stuff inside.   Clever.   Will there be FMJ versions so you can sell them in NJ?

Interesting. I'm willing to give them a try, but I highly doubt it's going to do any better than Hoppe's 9 and CLP for me.

Now if we could just get deodorant and shaving cream in cans like that.

Not to mention cooking spray, paint, and cleaners.

Hell, if it comes in a can, that can should be available!

The selection of gun care products currently available is already mind-boggling.

I wouldn't want to try to break into that market.

not picking nits here but what does this do that the other 10000+ products already on the market don't do? who's stuff is actully in the can with the fancy package? we know S&W aren't making it.

The "stuff" in the can is made by Radiator Specialties, better know for the Gunk car care products.

Those cans ROCK!!!

I would think that packaging would sell well for any number of male-oriented product lines!

Well here is a thought . With the M&P line and them going for the whole department weapon shebang deal , maybe there will be a clause in the contract that says service is only valid if you use "Autorised " care products .

It is neat packaging- not my cup of tea, but I'm sure it'll grab the eye of many people. I do wonder if it is wise to use the same color scheme for everything. People often grab things off of the shelf without reading the text. They go by color and general pattern recognition. I used to grab diet Sun Drop by mistake all the time because the Diet label wasn't different enough from the Regular label.

We need a smily that says "GAYEST SHIT EVER".

I'm sure its a great package, but bullet shaped cans is as queer as well... bullet shaped cans. I'm sorry it outqueers the three dollar bill and in doing so becomes the new standard with which to measure queerness.

Are those case rims at the bottoms of those cans?

Those look like they would make great gifts for the gun nut!

For the record - you can have hollow points in NJ - you just arent allowed to shoot anyone with them You can use them at the range, but not in your weapon at home (this of course is the law as told to me by the clerk in a certain NJ gun shop on Rt 22 several years ago)

The laws may have changed, or that clerk may have changed their mind....same thing in most customers minds

Brake cleaner is great for the mechanical parts of a firearm, but you need good solvent for the barrel, especially for the copper.

I have the full line here at the shop, gift courtesy of SHOT show.  I have a whole display case dedicated to the products.  So far my testing shows a working product but no performance diff over blue wonder, quick scrub, Eezox.  I will pass the samples around to my customers and see what their response is.  It is a crowded field of products and it would be very nice to have something with better chemistry.  The consistant packaging helps but adds confusion so you have to read the label to pick the stuff you want.  One thing I will say is the lack of odors to the products, which can help greatly with the spouse.

Any additional sales information about these products would be appreciated.
