 Cats just have a sense about that kind of stuff. A friend of mine is allergic to cats.... yup you guessed it. As soon as she'd walk in the house my cat would make a beeline for her and beg for attention.

...I wish my cat did that, but she barely tolerates being held at all. Not violent, though, just makes sad little squeaks until you put her down.

I'm dog people too, and my ex GF's cat did that to me all the time. In fact, I'm a NON-cat guy. The cat on the other hand just LOVED me. I guess it's lucky it hadn't pissed on my car or rooted through my trash.
 Looking back on it, now that she's my ex, I think now I like the cat better than I like her. It sure made a lot less noise when I left.

Well I can say the same thing in reverse. I've never been a "dog" person, always been around cats, but I have taken to liking my GF's German Shepherd. I'm still not too crazy about small "yappy" dogs or scary ones like Pit Bulls or Staffs. I worked in an animal shelter as a volunteer. I rarely if ever worked with the dogs.
