Clothing in water proof bags.
My wife carry a lighter, but similar, load. Kids carry their own canteen, sleep bag, socks and raingear plus their hiking packs, little fanny packs with granola bar, flashlight, whistle, plastic bag raincoat, light stick, Matchbox car.
Garden cart for the rest until we have to dump it. Leave on bike for as far as we can on back roads/trails/railroad beds/etc.
