Hot DAMN, one more step in the right direction

Fighter pilots from Langley Air Force Base began night flying Monday.

The squadrons participating in the nighttime missions are 1st Fighter Wing
F-15 Eagle and F-22 Raptor Squadrons.

The missions are necessary for all 1st Fighter Wing pilots to complete
required training and maintain proficiency levels with certain tasks, such
as night vision goggle flying.

The in-flight training will take place a safe distance offshore.

They will take place on March 20 to 23 and 27 to 30.

The flights will be between the hours of 4:00 and 10:30 p.m.

From pilots I have talked to, flying with NVG is HARD. Best of luck to them.

I just got done doing that tonight.

Flying WITHOUT NVDs in a formation is hard.  Flying with them is less hard.
