Neighbor just gave me a Night Owl Explorer Pro™ NOCX5. Now I must say he has more money then brains sometimes, but is a good guy. Anyway, he comes over this afternoon and hands me this thing and says he just bought it at Wal-Mart and it does not work and said if I get it to work I can have it and went back home. He has done this several times before with various items. Turns out he put the wrong battery in it.(needs a 123). People here have bad mouthed 1st Gen NV, but this thing has a crisp, clear view, not fuzzy. Went out to the Barn and could see a couple rats looking for feed the Horse left, with the IR light, could make out great detail of them at a range of about 75 feet. Watched our Cat walk on the Stone Wall behind the Barn that is 250 feet away. Just want to pass on some info on what I think is a good value in cheap Night Vision.
