A tie makes a pretty good handle in a fight. Some people have to wear dress wear while being exposed to risk. ETA: And these have been out for a round a year I think. |

They actually make some sense. A tie would definitely be a disadvantage in a fight.

They have actually been around for quite a while I know that whenever I ware my class A's I ware one as well as manny years ago when my uniform cosisted of having a tie we were required to have some sort of breakaway tie be it this sytle or clipon. As do almost all agencies the have ties as part of there uniforms.

You laugh but if you ever get someone who grabs your tie that doesn't breakaway, you wouldn't find it so F*cking funny!!
Major rule of fighting, If they can get control of your head or neck they have control of you. Our state law enforcement agents have worn these for years and it's MANDATORY they be break away ties for that reason. |

What's so funny? I wore the same type tie on duty. They break away very easy when you get in a fight.

When I was a security guard we wore clip on ties so they could not be used to choke us in a fight (or they figured the caliber of guard they hired was too dumb to tie a tie)

+1 All the cop uniforms I have ever seen have clip on, or breakaway ties. There is a reason for them. |
