So like many Americans I am a mutt, but my grandfather on my mothers side was of Irish decent. Everyone is Irish tomorrow. St. Paddy's day is a great excuse to drink, especially when it is on a Friday.

So I'll most likely be hitting the bar after work - going to start with some Middleton and a Guinness. We'll see where it leads to from there. Then I'll probably have some corned beef, potatoes, and a bit of cabbage on Sunday with the family.

There is also a party downtown SD where they close off some streets and roll out green astroturf (how Irish!) and serve green beer. But since we are due for some rain, I'll probably pass on that.

What are your plans?

Find some nice lass and use this classy line after a few pints:

"Do you have any Irish in you?"
Hopefully the answer is NO.
"Would you like some?"

I'm half Irish, and the other half comes from another region of fine beermaking traditions (German), so I will be celebrating both of my halves with lots of liguid happyness, corned beef, and cabbage.

Hmmm...

Wearing green?

I'm actually not really sure yet. I have the day off. I might go to Las Vegas, or I might go to a party I've been invited to, or I might just go out to an Irish pub with a girl friend, and NOT wear green.

Just depends of what sounds good tomorrow.

Well my father is Irish and my mother is Dutch and on St. Patricks Day I intend on watching the parade and going to the nearest Irish tavern and drinking lots of guinness, Irish cream and Irish car bombs and getting totally blitzed and then staggering home bouncing off the overpass walls and getting yelled at by the wife.

Happy ST. Patricks Day to all and may all your dreams come true.

Not looking forward to it at all.

The Irish take offense to that phrase.

My friend ATTEMPTED to order that at a bar in Dublin once.

Me, I'll be getting piss drunk and watching my friend's band play.

I started a family tradition of having Corned Beef Hash and Potatoes Guinness for dinner on St. Patty's day years ago, I'm looking forward to it!!!....Mmmm good

I heard somewhere that Hash and tatters isn't really traditional Irish cooking, but I guess it's okay 'cause we're not really Irish either!!!......
