I love my Gamo 440 rifle. 1000FPS and accurate as all hell for about $220.

Benjamin Sheridans are pretty nice pellet rifles, but thats about as nice of one I have ever messed with myself. I know there are much better pellet rifles out there.

If you are talking precision / in the same hole accuracy, try Anshutz, Feinwerkbau, or Walther (not sure if Walther is still in that business).
They will cost you upwards of US $2,000. The best ones now used compressed ait cylinders for consistency of rifle weight and pellet velocity. |

The RWS 48 is a hell of a gun. It hits HARD in .22

Benjamin and Gamo are nice and you don't have to give a left nut for 'em.
I have a Benjamin from when I was a kid and it's still just as good as it was then. I have a Gamo too. I like them both. |

The 440 has a better scope than the 220, it is balls on accurate. I can shoot about 50 yards and hit a pigeon everytime I pull the trigger. |

I have a Benjamin thats about 30 years old, it's been in my family for quite some time. Shoots 5mm pellets and will go through a fence board at about 20 yards.
Great for rabbits, possums, crows... just about everthing.

Beeman-very accurate, great workmanship, 1000 fps, .177 or .22, quality all the way.

Beeman's are nice but there quality has dropped recently. I bought a Beeman P1 pistol in 86' and it was stolen and in 2002 I finally got around to getting a replacement. I was pretty disappointed at the drop in workmanship but it's still a cool little pellet pistol, .20 caliber if you're interested.
I'm currently shooting a RWS 54 in .22 and it's a pretty hard hitting rifle at 800-900 FPS. |

Don't have a good one, but if I were shopping these would certainly be on my must-consider list:
AIRFORCE AIRGUNS Seems to be the AR's of air guns. (Then again, gaspain has a point.)

I have a Gamo Hunter 440 I can put 5 shots under a dine at 50 feet with good pellets. RWS and Beeman make great air rifles. Stay away from rifle that need multiple pumps they are not as accurate. Beeman makes great pellets.

99% of the pump up pneumatics are fucking junk.
Spring air's are excellent, maximum power with one stroke, none of that pumping up bullshit. Are you looking for a target gun or a pest/hunting gun? Real target pellet guns are low velocity and great at paper(easy same hole accuracy)but shitty at killing tree rats. Pest/hunters are great at tree rats but only so-so at serious target shooting. 90% of the quality guns out there will do both well. |

Diana Model 34. 1272 fps. was the best I was able to get over the chronograph. It was cheap, has given good service, taken more beavers, muskrats and other varmints, than I care to recall.

It has killed many tree rats

I used to shoot a Feinwerkbau for competitions. Great gun!! Didn't work to well for shooting birds in the back yard though.
$1500 for mine when I bought it years ago. But it payed for a good portion of my college tuition(athletic scholarship-rifle/air rifle team). So it was an excellent investment. That's how I sold my parents on the idea that I needed one

When I was a teenager, I had a Beeman, Benjamin and a Feinwerkbau, in addition to my Crosman and Daisy beaters. I liked the Beeman the best, because I could never pump the Benjamin more than 7 pumps.

RWS. I just got one that shoots either .22 or .177---850 FPS with the 22 or 1150 fps with the 177. Seems to be very accurate. Granted, it cost more than a 10/22, but I can shoot it in the backyard and not scare the neighbors...

Yes they are, the sliver streak is a nice gun and looks half decent to boot! I have the same model only in a blued finish, thing is strong and built well. |

I have a Drozd airgun. They acutally come from the factory with up to 6 round burst, but there is a fairly easy modification out there that makes them true full auto. Set them up with a paintball CO2 tank and they are a hell of a lot of fun. |

OK dude, trust me on this one the BEST and last pellet gun you'll ever buy is called the BSA superten carbine. It has an integral silencer and stabilizing system that makes it awesome to shoot. In fact i get tired of shooting it sometimes because the pellets are going through the same hole on the target. I love to hunt with it; i've taken-out rabbits at 100+ yards. And the best part about it, is that it has already paid for itself, A friend of mine has a pest control business and calls me when he needs Extreme accuracy. I've gone into grocery stores, grain silos, warehouses and malls to take out pigeons and other birds for him.

I have a field rifle I spent about $1000 on some years back, and I've seen a bunch of others up close.
First question: how much are you willing to spend? Second question: do you want one that uses pre-charged air (from a scuba tank) or do you want one that is manually cocked? The pre-charged ones are easiest to shoot accurately, as they basically don't recoil at all. ~ |

I love my Beeman R9 break-barrel. I spent $220 for it a few years ago, I think they're a bit more now. Amazingly accurate. I've heard a lot of good things about the Talon SS pneumatic, only bad thing is the need to buy an air tank to charge it. You can buy a pump, but from what I hear you better be ready for a cardio workout!

I'll second the Beeman R9 -$320, 800 fps with .20 pellets or the R7 if you have shorter ranges $260, 620 fps in 20 caliber, even the R1 $510 if you want to spend the money. The Air Force line is pretty cool as well, for c/a |

Got a sheridan and it is the best one out there when it comes to accurate and hitting power. .20 cal sounds weird but o well. If you see the pellets buy a lot because sometimes there a bitch to find. |
