I love to eat sardines, or other types of canned small fish like "sprats"

I buy these at a Russian grocery store, they are smoked sprats in oil, they are very good

I believe NIMH categorizes that as a mild mental disorder.

(Marinated herring, and mackrel in tomato sauce, however - is delicious )

My wife loves that kind of thing.  Sardines in tomato sauce with rice.  Course she's Pinay so she has an excuse !

Use to eat sardines with my Grand Father. Brings back memories. My Wife doesn't like fish so I eat this stuff when she's not around.

I like sardines on toast. But the ones in tomato sauce, not the ones in olive oil.

Maybe I will some day.

Sardines in hotsauce, your choice of crackers and cold beer.  Few things in life are on par with that!

Sardine sammiches are good stuff,

I also like sardines instead of tuna in a salad mix. Goes great on saltines. And don't forget to try sardines in a pasta dish! The rich taste is perfect for mixture with cheese and tomato sause.

Only problem with sprats is that they come out of the most polluted body of water in the world--the Baltic.

I remember my dad eating sardine sandwiches when I was a kid.  I never cared for them. But, I will eat sushi and my dad just looks at me like I'm crazy.

Ugh. I'm fine with kippers or smoked oysters, but sardines...

Ahh, that brings back memories of taking a summer course here at UMD a few years back.  I lived in campus housing away from the campus proper, with five other guys in a 2nd floor apt setup.  The entrance was outside, so we got this balcony.  One of the guys was originally from the Ukraine (moved here when he was 10...or 14...I can't really remember).  We'd have these gathering where a bunch of Russians would come over, and we'd drag the furniture out to the balcony and hang out, drinking vodka and eating sprats (No sprats for me.)  Those Russians love their tinned fish.  The nastiest thing I saw one of them do was eat the last sprat....and then drink the oil in the tin, which had little bits of fins, scales, bones and heads in it.

Eurgh.  No sprats for me, thanks, but I remember them fondly anyways.

Well know one has mentioned my favorite, so mine is the ones in the mustard sauce right out of the can, no need for crackers.Oh the question was do you like sardine sandwiches? Yes, sardines and peanutbutter (creamy skippy).

I love the kippered snacks but the sardines are good too.  Then there's the trout from Trader Joe's, ummm.

Parents eat pickled hering in the cream sauce.  I have eaten some pretty funky things in my life but I wont even touch that.
