Hmmm.... the Remington 700 in .17-.223 improved for $100 was prob'ly my best, though just a couple weeks ago I bought a Rem 700 in 7 mag for $200. Both are mid/late 60's production, fleur-de-lis checkering, decent wood. I got the .17-.223 because the idiot I bought it from thought it was broken because it wouldn't chamber a .223 round, duh. The 7 mag was just a right place right time deal.
The first one was rebarreled to a .17 Remington and is my funnest sage-rat exploder, the second one will be a .338 Win Mag as soon as I swap barrels (Friday). Both came with scopes, too.
Neener neener.

ETA: And the Ruger Security Six, stainless 4" .357, for $50. Not stolen, but the previous owner had taken it down to onesies to clean it. Came in three ziploc bags and took me 15 minutes to reassemble.
