And for some reason, everytime I put the second pin in, I have little to no play in the movement of it on the barrel.  Any suggestions?

It sounds like you have an enlarged barrel, this can be very dangerous.  To cure this you must send your rifle to me at once.

When I had one of those, it was a very tight/solid fit. Kurt's Kustom installed it when I sent my upper in for work.
