I just finished it.   Wondering what others who read it thought.   I found it unbiased at first, then it seemed to take a sharp turn towards spinning the whole effort as useless in the last 50 pages.

It was OK. I was expecting Blackhawk Down 2.0, but the book doesn't do a very good job with the actual combat stories, IMO.

I read it awhile back when it first came out and didn't really like it that much. Parts were ok, but not that great overall.

The best book, so far, to come out of the war and I've read everything from 'Shooter' to 'Love my rifle more than you.'

I thought it was good, but not great.  Really dumped on the officers, which I feel is a result of caricature by enlisted men of their superiors, not indicative of majority opinion.

If you want to read a good OIF book, try No True Glory by Bing West.  Details the battles for Fallujah in vivid detail.  Very well done, gives great insight to the insurgency.

It was OK. I did not rate it too highly. Thunder Run on the other hand.....great read.
