Sometimes if I am troubled by things I see in the world, I will feel better if I clean a gun, work its action, have it next to me while watching TV, etc.

Anybody else have that feeling? Kinda like looking at your bank statement and reassuring yourself your $10k is in savings.

No. Just like the Brady Campaign says, I immediately go into a killing rage and I have the overwhelming urge to shoot rifles from the hip.

How funny would that be to have some kid shooting a AR15 and says at the end that guns are my anti-drug.

They are mine, i wouldnt do drugs anyway but thats just another thing in the way to preventing me that is unless you consider gunpowder a drug.

When I'm holding a gun I feel this surge of power like God must feel when he's holding a gun Homer S.

I find it difficult to watch zombie movies without a firearm within touching distance - like a safety blanket.

Yes, like an old friend.
With it, I know that I have the power to decide my own fate.
I can gather food, defend my property, and protect myself against enemies more numerous and stronger than myself.

Someday, I am going to write a book about the Philosophy of the Gun.

DARE.. Drugs Are Really Expensive.

Me, I've got a revolver, and a makarov, and a FAL, and at least one .50BMG to go before I have time to think about that shit.

Oh yea, and a wedding

This question, asked on Arfcom, is roughly equivalent to asking if the Pope is Catholic.

Not really, or at least not the way you guys describe it. To me guns are tools used to do a job. I do like having the finest tools available for the job though.

+1 familarity breeds contemp maybe
I just don't get it  when somebody almost wets themself over a firearm
In fact it kinda annoys me as i get it from people from time to time at work
I do however appeciate a nicley assembled or set up firearm it is just not a mythical creature to me like it seems to be to some people

Might just be my personality I was at the casino awhile back some lady won and was screaming and hooping I went over as it was a $1 million machine  and i wanted to take a look  she won $350
I won $1K later that night and merely smiled and shrugged and though well thats cool

Right here. It gives me the confidence that I can deal with just about anything. It also keeps me on the straight and narrow, because of the responsibility it carries with it.

"This is my RIFLE"
"This is my GUN"
"This one's for Fighting"
"This one's for FUN"

Using the above as a guide, Yes, I have felt a feeling of warm release when handling my "GUN"......

I always have a loaded gun near by when I sleep. Even when I am running I like the comforting weight of a gun in my fanny pack. Of course it is the best when investigating strange noises at night either indoors or out.
