Ready to order, do I get the Yugo or Romy 8mm ammo? Is there really any difference?

I went with the Yugo as its brass cased and the Romy is steel.

Romy is a little more "sooty" . It leaves behind a lot of residue. It has soft primers. The only yugo stuff i tried was the old 1950s stuff and it had hard primers and required stronger firing pin springs in my M48s to make them fire. I heard the newer Yugo stuff is pretty good though.

I've never had a problem with the Romanian 8mm.

Runs through both M48 and 24\47's 100%

If you didnt personally get it from a commercial source you will save yourself a lot of trouble by ALWAYS assuming its corrosive.

Just wash out the barrel and clean as usual. It aint no big deal!

IIRC, Portuguese (sp?) is the only 8mm besides commercial that is NC.
