My son tried out his new Les Baer Monolith Heavyweight Tactical today.  Here are the results:

Range to target was approximate 12m

Ammo was Fiocchi 230 hardball

Three shots, slow fire.

He REALLY likes this pistol!

Isn't Les Baer the ONLY mfgr that offers an accuracy guarantee??????????????????????

Considering the brand of ammunition, well done!

Rest or offhand?  Regardless, that pistol is a shooter.

Actually, I've had very good results with Fiocchi in all pistol calibers.

Granted, it goes bang each time but, running it over the chronograph it does have a (relatively) wide spread.

Yes, I am biased as my Supers have a much less spread but, that topic / subject matter is for another day.

He was shooting offhand.  And yes...he is a dead shot.  Consistently wins his IDPA tourneys.  Always shot expert while in the Army.  One of those fortunate and skilled guys who can pick up any weapon and start driving tacks with it.

Not sure about the Les Baer accuracy guaranty but I suspect its true.  That is one accurate pistol.  Way too pricey for me though...

12 yard = 10.972 8 meter

You're right.  For some reason i was thinking there was a bigger difference between yards and meters.

I've shot both. The Wilson, while a great 1911, is still 2nd place behind Baer.

They are great guns, but @ only 12yds and only (3) rounds ? Come'on dude... Fess up your a gunwriter aren't you.

FWIW: Rock River is every bit as good if not a bit better, for a bit less. Not beating on Baer, just for people who are thinking about buying a tight 1911. I agree with the poster about Wilson being 2nd place, they are good pistols, but should be much better for what they charge.

Pistol not mine...it belongs to my crazy son.  He paid a TON of $$$ for that damn thing and I can assure you that it is the most accurate pistol I've ever seen.

And yes...it was only 3 rounds the first time out of the box.  Now yesterday, he shot almost all of the .45ACP the local range had!

sorry to disagree here but,

RRA is NOTHING compared to a les baer. I am ALL for cheaper price as long as the reliability and accuracy is there but RRA barely come close in comparison to fit, finish and workmanship. Hand fitting takes man labor and is expensive.

Would i pay the price for a wilson or lb? No. that said i honestly respect the guns they produce for what they are. Some of the finest handguns made.

Are you sure you're not confusing Rock Island Arms / Armscor with Rock River Arms (home of some ex-Baer smiths)?
