I seriously wouldn't pay $25 for it, let alone 25k.
Looks like a hunk of shit to me. I'm sure someone will inform me of how wonderful it is....but it still looks like a piece of shit. |

The sellers' rationale is: North American Arms Co Limited, Quebec Canada. Serial # 96 of 100 tool room pre-production pistols completed befor the contract was cancelled.
Collectors item. Apparently, something caused the contract to be cancelled. Shitty workmanship? |

Only ~100 Noth American's were made, all from parts and basically toolroom models/prototypes. NA was a Canadian company who was going to make M1911s for Uncle Sugar during WW1. None were delivered to the Army. These are in the same boat as the Singer M1911A1s, very rare and very expensive when found. ETA: It is overpriced. One sold at auction in Jan. 05 for $16.8K. |

Because in truth it is rarer then a Singer 1911. The condition is pretty poor, but that finish was known to flake easily and a collector should know one with that supposed finish without flaking is suspicious.
If one collected 1911s and A1s [USGI] it would make for a excellent collection piece. I would prefer the condition to be better but IF it is 100% original that would be quite a nice find. In that condition all parts would have to be correct, and the BBL in reasonable shape. [ Some of you guys don't know SHIT about collecting USGI 1911s and your ignorance is pathetically embaressing. Before you snipe, do a bit of homework first and understand the rarity of the piece]. |

Because you are making fun of a price without even bothering to understand why it is priced the way it is. For some in the USGI world it is one of the "Holy Grails" and when one pops up its nice to see. And I'm not mad, just bashing you all a bit because if YOU owned it and sold it for $25 bucks I would hope it would be to ME.  |

I have zero interest in collecting ANY 1911's or any other firearm(s) so, I need not research a damn thing. In my opinion, the item listed above is junk. You know, one mans junk is another mans treasure? Go a head and bid on the item, enjoy it, relish the rarity of the item, it matters not to me for it is 'your monies and your prerogative'. |

I would want at least 7 days and a internal/external inspection by an expert myself. He's a bit high but I'd bet he"ll pull 20K out of it. Some of mine have doubled and tripled in price in the past year.

Of course it is...it's a 1911! In the event of an overpressure, it funnels all the extra into a quantum singularity where it travels to the enemy capital (in this case, WW1 = Berlin) and utterly destroys it. |

The last Singer changed hands at about $35K. It could quite possibly sell for $25K. In the 1911 world, you are looking at one of the Holy Grails.
