Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Can you suggest some free OCR (image to text) software?

I've got a big data table with one column of dates and several columns of numbers.

It came off of someones scanner from scanning a paper report.

I need to get it into excel.

Any free software you can suggest?

Readaris is OCR freeware.  I have used it with decent results.  Some OCR programs only like to work in sync from a scanner though, and I haven't tried it that way, so this might not automatically work from a scanned file.
