For those that like Band of Brother, this is the story of Private Webster of the 506th PIR in WWII. This is the same webster in Band of Brothers, only his book was written in the 60's. It makes a great perspective to the movie series as his account explains things, action, and personalities in a way that the movies didn't or couldn't.

Highly recomended.

Great book, I think steven ambrose 'borrowed' a lot of websters book for "band of brothers."

I think you are proably right... A lot of the smaller scenes in Webster's book were good television, and he being the journalist type probably made a better historian than the other soldiers who were only thinking about getting out of the Army alive.
