I saw lots of Remington 1100s, or semi auto Berettas.

You can't go wrong with an 870 IMO.
You can do practically anything thing with it.

I have an 870 wingmaster.  I use it for:
Self defence
Trap
Skeet
Hunting

Best shotgun, most utility.

You can be competitive with a pump gun in three gun shoot.

I have a fabarm . Will it do? it is semi-auto, dead reliable but has a 28 inch barrel. Should I get a shorter barreled gun?

Benelli M1.

For "tactical" I assume defense or security type of shotty is what you are talking about, the shorter barrel like 20" or less would be good, easier to move around with it. My shotty has a 20" and holds 7+1

Don't know if it would be good for a 3 gun, never see one of those competitions in person

If you are buying a new shotgun for 3-gun, then there are really only two options: Remington 1187/1100 or the Benelli M1. Sure, there are other semi autos out there that perform creditably, but I would not recommend buying them unless you like swimming against the tide.  Your Fabarm could work OK for you, and certainly I would recommend you try it before throwing money at a new shotgun, but you may find it slow to load and I have no idea if it will accept a mag extension. Practical shotgun is basically a loading game, and so if you cannot start with the maximum number of shells allowed in the rules (usually 8+1 or 10+1) then you start at a disadvantage... if your shotgun is also slow to load (puttons to hold down etc.) then the problem gets worse.

If competitive use is your primary purpose for this gun, then forget a pump. Yes, the 870 and Mossbergs can be shot very well, are cheap and solid, but they put you at too much of a disadvantage vs a semi. JHMO.

$500 even.  Face to face.

20" barrel
Chrome lined
rifle sights
6+1 capasity.
Emaculate condition.

It is about the price you see them go on gunbroker and whatnot.

Benelli's M-4 is the sheit. One serious sinister looking shotty.

I found a great deal on a used / like new Benelli M1 Super 90 a month or so back ( $625 ) and was totally bummed to learn I can't install the M-4 collapsable stock on it due to the spring in the M1 stock vs the M-4's gas operrated ( no spring in the stock )

Buy a Benelli ....  you'll be glad you did.

I vote for the Benelli M1 Tactical.  I love my shotgun.  Only one issue and it is called Benelli thumb.  You three gun shooters know what I am talking about if you shoot a benelli.  In so many words the loading gate in a little short on a Benelli so when you are reloading fast sometimes you thumb gets caught on the loading gate.  I wear a glove which solves the problem.

Good luck

This is reportedly a very soft shooting gun.  But they are hard to get - we have had them on order for more than 2 months.

That's just a rebadged/accessorized Winchester, correct?
