We ALWAYS see images of protests in foreign lands, with hundreds , if not thousands of Muslims holding their AKs and waving them in the air, doing their best "Death to America" dance.......Could WE organize a nice, peaceful march, or something, where WE take our ARs and wave them in the air, and shout "Death to Gun Control! The black rifle keeps us FREE!", or some similar pro-gun slogan, (enter your best ones here)?
OR WOULD THE ANTIGUNNERS JUST SHIT IN THEIR PANTS/LOSE THEIR MINDS AT THE SIGHT OF THIS, AND CALL OUT THE NATIONAL GUARD ON US?  ok, so that was two questions..... |

You'd have to be pretty stupid to all show up without ammo. That's my 2 cents anyway and why I would never attend such a demonstration. Maybe the protest should be against Islam though?

Except with regards to Tiananmen Square the US media depicted them as heroes. The same media would find a way to depict us all as Klansmen or Aryan Nation, etc. Probably find kiddie porn in all our homes also.  Bottom line is the media would make short work of it all. |

If for any reason America has to have another armed rebellion we'll have to start out disguising ourselves as bird hunters and our AR's as shotguns. No wait, Cheney ruined that one for us, the media is on to the "bird hunter" gambit. And they never trusted deer hunters because they use those nasty sniper rifles.
I know, we can disguise ourselves as Revolutionary War re-enactors! Since the media has no recollection of history farther back than JFK that will work great! Now all we have to do is get the right uniforms (I say French uniforms since everyone knows the French wouldn't hurt anyone), disguise our AR's as muskets and get some signs that say stuff like "Don't Tread On Me!" (they'll think we're animal rights activists), or "The British are Coming!" (They'll think we're Royalty groupies). We'll have the White House before they know what hit them! Disclaimer to all Homeland Security board watchers: This above is SATIRE, go back to searching the car rental records of college students, there's your real terrorist threat! |

What impresses me the most about those news clips are all the RPGs in the crowd. I'd like a few of those, but you have to practice and I don't think my local range would feel all warm and fuzzy about that.

80 million gun owners, and no one could organize a Million Gun March?....Not to attack anyone....not to "take the White House"....just to show that we, as Americans, are a safe group......as far as bringing ammo to it, why would we need ammo?....Are some of us that paranoid?....Do you think that the ATF/FBI/US MARSHALLS/DC Police etc.. could really put together enough agents/officers to suppress us?.....If the National Guard was called in as "Security", do you think they would fire on a peaceful demonstration?
.....I'd be willing to bet more celebs than Ted Nugent would show up........certainly some anti-gun Holywood types, (yes, I meant it to say HOLY-wood).....but I think that some other Pro Gun groups would support this............I am not talking about some armed rebellion, or something.........I'm talking about a peaceful demonstation, to show we are all not some kind of "Gun Nuts"......we pay taxes, we work, we have served in our military, some still do, we take part in the political process, we vote..........there can be Peace Demonstrations/War Protests, a Million Man March, a million Mom March, and people can riot with Seattle police when the WTC comes to town, but we can't participate in a peaceful demonstration?.......I find this hard to comprehend.

If you call not wanting to get shot paranoid, yes.
We wouldn't be allowed to do this. The measures taken to prevent it I will leave to your collective imaginations.
You bet your ass they would. At least at first. They disarmed American citizens after Katrina in full violation of the supreme law of the land. Can you say Kent State? I was alive then and remember it well.

We have had some victories in the past decade or so but we ain't kicking the anti's asses by any stretch of the imagination. Look at the IL gun threads. IL will fall I expect. Not now in all probability but not too much longer. Like I said, they only have to win once. We have to win everytime. That is the way with intrusions into liberty. |

One person marching with a rifle would be arrested for________?.......5,000.......10,000......100,000 demonstrators protesting gun control peacefully......I have serious doubts that the National Guard would fire on us, as they did at Kent State, Ohio.......as you said MM, they WERE NOT EVEN ARMED.....we would be....that changes the dynamics of any confrontation drastically......I guess people are just right.......if the SHTF, it would be every man for himself..........we can't get together for anything but gun shows and shooting matches.......

I think the more there were of us the greater force we would be met with. Tanks, APCs, barricades with guns bristling. Then what? Charge? Try to push through? No, I just don't see it happening.
Now consider thousands on a relatively narrow street, all armed. Be like shooting fish in a bbl. I know damn well that if I were on the other side of that barricade and opened fire into that there would be a lot of hits. Besides, the premise was our guns are unloaded and we have no ammo, correct? Works out great for them. They can say "we couldn't be sure" or "we didn't know" while knowing they can massacre us with complete impunity. Might as well go to Fallujah with empty guns and claim you are peacibly resisting Ghandi style! 
Yeah, it gives the JBTs carte blanche to kill as many of us as they want. Also conisder during this some socialists light off some firecrackers or even shoot into the gov't forces. Then what? You could bet some of them would do so.
No. Just means a different strategy, different tactics. If I am going to face the .gov forces armed I would prefer it to be on my own terms as much as possible. In the meantime there are other methods. |

The message is that we will vote fot the candidate that is the MOST gun friendly, the lesser of two evils. We would all prefer a more Gun rights friendly administration than the current one, however what was the other choice? Kerry? Don't vote at all? Neither of those those would help our gun-ownership rights. Part of being an adult is realizing that the ideal is not always possible, and choosing the best of several undesirable outcomes. Or what would you suggest? Anarchy? Crying in your beer and doing nothing? Running for president yourself? Not trying to be difficult, but since you think you have it all figured out, what would be your course of action, if it is not voting for the most genuinely gun friendly politicians you can and supporting the gun rights lobby? |

When I was younger and more naive, I tended to lean to the Democrat, thinking that they were "for the little guy".......I am not so naive anymore, and I realize that BOTH parties are going to screw us, no matter what......So now I vote with my gun rights in mind, because the 2nd Amendment is the only one that can guarantee the rest........I firmly believe in George Mason's quote, "To disarm the people is the surest and most effective way to enslave them." |

+1 And I fear no matter what administration, big govenment is moving this way in a progressive manner all the time. Just curious, do the the Native American tribes have to abide by NFA and FOPA or can they do what they want in this respect? |
