I was brushing my teeth this morning and felt some pain. I checked in the mirror and I have a cavity right next to the gum line on one of my molars.

Anybody know how they fix this and about how much it costs?

I can get amalgam (silver) for $95 or glass filled resin (white) for $120-$175 depending on location.

Root canals suck.

Is a root canal what it takes to fix that?

Probably not. I don't think it's the location but how deep the cavity is. Mine hurt like a bitch all day long.

Well, they drill a hole in your tooth and use piano wire to scrape all the flesh and nerves out your tooth and it's roots. I was plenty numb but it took forever. And it took 3 trips total to get a crown on top.
