I had a glock 26. Shot it for a while. It was ok and felt fine in my hand. I didnt like the safety or lack thereof of the glocks. I sold it and got a Para-Ordanance Warthog. I have shot 300 rounds out of it and had only 3 stove pipes. And thats with factory mag springs.

If I did it over again, I'd get the S&W version. You can't put an M3 on the Walther rails, becasue they are proprietary.

I almost got a SIG 226, but the pistol was sold before I could pick it up. I have no problems with my Glock 17 other than not being able to shoot it more often; I'm down to less than a case of sub-sonic ammo! |

 Bullets will stop someone. If you hit center mass with a 9mm it will stop someone as quickly as a .45 or a .40 If you miss, it doesn't matter what caliber you have. That said, I'm glad you got yourself a Glock!

I shot a racoon six times with a 25acp. He flipped me off, and dragged himself off to die. Better than fist fighting I guess, but just barely.
Yeah. Out in the daytime and not scared of the labs.... Bad JUJU. I lit him up to keep it from charging my dogs. |

Im too professional for a Glock fouty, so I carry a Glock 20 10MM. Would love to get something else, but no one else makes a 16 round 10MM, that I know about. |

EAA Witness has the same (15+1) capacity as the Glock 20, and you can carry it in Condition One. |

I will assume that's a serious post and comment. 1. 300 rounds and 3 stovepipes? If you are serious and under the impression this is to be expected of a fine pistol, please seek help (although Pare is a fine pistol). 2. Your finger is your safety...I've never understood the "no safety comment". And by the way the Glock has a three safetys built into it, READ HERE. I have a G26, bought around '93, thousands of rounds through it with factory springs in mags that stay loader all the way all the time. I have only had malfunctions with very cheap reloads a guy used to sell my very cheaply. |

Glock is one of the safest pistols you can own as long as you can keep your finger off the trigger.
Kinda common sense, aint it? After owning a little bit of everything, I keep going back to Glocks. I can't help it, they just... WORK. |

well now i guess you have an extra safety the fabled "stove pipe" i like glocks cause they'll shoot anything, anytime. And as for the kaboom line: even 1911's have the same problem! |

Big 10-4. On the coasty. Cape May then on to potsmouth VA for the rest of my tour. +1 on the ruger, Loved as a range gun and home defense, but too big and heavy for CCW. |

Your right, I've said it before that its all about shot placement. But you can't in good faith tell me that 2 shots center mass from a .45, has the same effect as 2 from a 9mm. While both will stop any normal person, I wanted a larger caliber and a smaller weapon. This trade accomplished both parts of the mission. Semper Paratus. |

I have a P89, and a Glock 30. The P89 is for home defense duty with some very fast 115grn gold dots, and extended mags. Its reliable enough to rate as my back against the wall gun...

I'm a huge 1911 fan myself...however i'll take the Glock over any gun...any day. There is no 1911 out there that can take the abuse a Glock can.

Good move. The P89 is a decent low budget gun but accuracy sucks, the trigger sucks, and they are heavy.
The Glock is reliable, accurate, lightweight and easy to work on as well as maintain. Parts are cheap. Not that you will have to do much to it. Whenever the guys who rent out guns come on here they talk about how the Glocks run better and longer than anything else by far. |

You're right. I'm wrong. 1911s are the shit. Glocks suck. My apologies. I wanted to like 1911s, I really did. I had it in my mind that this was the pistol for me. Forget all the failures to eject. Forget all the erratic ejections. Forget the failures to feed. Forget the premature slide locks. The 1911 is a superior design because that's what all the Web gurus say, right? Forget that the Glocks I've owned have operated flawlessly while the 1911s I've owned (Colt, Kimber, Ithaca) have given me every problem in the book. Beauty over substance, right? But then I opened my eyes. Glocks work. 1911s work, sometimes. Sometimes is not enough. I keep a Glock 19 by my bedside. It's my go-to pistol--100% function, zero failures of any kind. I've gotten rid of all my 1911s but one, and that will soon be traded. Function trumps beauty/history. Sorry, but that's the way it is. P.S.: Even Browning considered the 1911 a flawed design. |
