Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Lawyer Rip Off in 1996

A friend took legal posession of his brothers Tilte 3 BAR 1918A2 when he died.
His brothers wife, wanted the money so he sold it  a via lawyer on a Form 4
This was in 1997.  His layer  said it was worth only 4000$!  Supposedly, this was an amnisty gun from WWII in "good" condition with extra barrel, etc.
Any body know a fair 1997 value for the firearm, I know its not 4000.

How much are BARs now?

20K? 30K?

4K 9 years ago just might have been in the ballpark.
