My english final.

I am in 11th grade some of you know this. I had a English final a few months ago. It was write a poem that was the final. I had a 98 average in the class. This might confuse you all because my spelling and grammer sucks. But any ways. The poem had to be about something you have in school. Well I have a gun lock on my locker. So this is what I wrote.

This is a lock
A lock for my glock
My glock leaves people in shock
Just like those guys did to Tu Pac
At night when I hear a nock
Out comes my glock.

I don't have a glock. She gave me a 5 for the final. I passed the class. I just realized what I got for the final and I just realized why I was searched in school. I find it funny and my friends got a laugh out of it.

omg lol Sounds like a weird teacher. The final was to write a poem? Thats so damn stupid. That doesn't test anything lol sucks you had to get searched and all. So much for a poem being a poem ...

I am in 11th as well. 11th AP British Literature. LOL! That would be so hilarious to turn that into to teacher and just watch her reaction when she read it.

ask her what elements of poetry your poem lacked to receive an 'A'.

no matter what anyone tells you, IT IS NOT TOO LATE for her to fix your grade.

Ive been around guns for ALONG time. I shoot for recreation but plan to shoot some comp stuff when I get into college.

Edit: I am the only kid in school and on the block who built a fully functional assault rifle (AR-15)

Take it to the board. You did the assignment. Tell them that you feel the teachers political veiws have hurt your final grade.

Besides, I have some expericance to this type of assignment...I read and critique them every semester.

Some kid in your class with a boring poem about a bird in some clouds propably got a 85% while you writing about your lock got a 5%.

Give the woman somehting to think about.

How long was the poem supposed to be? Was it supposed to be free verse or structured? Rhyme or freestyle?

My 11th grade English final was terrible, because my 11th grade English teacher was a terrible, controlling, straight-up b***h. She expected you to annotate the book to the point of being unable to read the original text for your own handwriting, and to be able to analyze and interpret on a college junior's level. Fortunately, my senior English teacher this year is really chill. I haven't made below a B this year and I barely put forth any effort. And this is IB English II (SL).

A 5 is better than a zero, right? It does seem pretty extreme, but today's political climate calls for 'zero tolerance' in the school environment. Sometimes it's best not to make waves. You know: don't rock the boat.

Ever hear of a band called 'Motorhead'? They do a song called The Game. It's all about the game, and how you play it.

Nothing wrong with guns. When I was in school, we even had a school rifle team, and a rifle range in the school basement. Times have changed. Your job right now is to get through high school with the best grades you can muster. Leave the gun talk at home! Your grades are excellent; all you need to do now is to play the game for one more year. THEN you can go to work, or join the military, maybe even go for some more school if you decide on a college. Don't screw around with your future by drawing the wrong kind of attention to yourself now. You'll grow up soon enough, but for now, you have a job to do!

You're lucky you have an AR at your age. All I had was a .22.
