A Republican controlled Congress...
-See Poll- |
i think it's a very likely possibility. the repub base out here in the real world is fed up with the complete lack of balls shown by the repubs in congress and isn't super happy with GWB in general. As much as i hate to say it i don't know if i can honestly hold my nose and vote yet again.
There was SOOOOOOO much potential there with so little accomplished. the republican party with just a few minor exceptions has been a complete failure in it's leadership over the last 8 years. jmho mike |
So are you a congresscritter or you got a mouse in your pocket or something?
"we" indeed. This country needs some gridlock. |
the thing is, as unhappy as people are with the reps, they're not jumping for joy for the dems either. whoever wins will win by default. people are going to be voting against who they don't want in power, not voting for who they like
exactly. My sole reason to vote in the 2004 election was to see Kerry fuck off to Massachusets...Not to re-elect President Bush The same thing will happen in the Illinois election comming up. |
The Republicans would be in trouble if they weren't running against Democrats.
Not everyone on here is Republican. Most probably, but not all.
i think we are losing the Republican Party - and believe that's out greatest threat.
(but i'll still vote for them to keep the dims out) |
and this thread probably wasn't addressed to them. |
Sounds just like they planned. Pretend to do something while accoplishing very little. |
ya know what ?
liberals sucking donkey dick The ones here can't Even dent it because they would have to admit they are liberal. Who the fuck hides what they are if they're so proud of their party? |
I strongly disagree. Bush and the Republican Senate have won for us the Supreme Court for the next 15+ years. Even if they have failed at everything else, they are a success in my book because the era of Judicial Tyranny is over. |
By the way the poll is at 18 to 22 right now.
You can't tell me we don't have dummies registered here and voting in this poll. |
It's possible to have some liberal views and not be a Democrat. And <gasp> it's even possible to have a few liberal views and be a Republican. |
I think it's going to take some good campaigning by strong individuals to overcome the upcoming BS onslaught that the Dems are preparing to unleash on the country. If the Reps don't act proactively and try reactionary campaigning, there is a distinct possibility that things are going to change for the worse.

Despite our (Republicans) issues with our party, look at the facts. People want leaders who are capable of fighting and winning wars, and protecting them for the savages. John Locke said this in 1689, and the situation has not changed. The world is still full of savages, and most Americans don't think the Democratic Party is capable of winning this current war. We won't see a significant change in Congress in 06, and Hillary will lose in 08.

I agree but, Bush isn't doing any better with the ports! I think both parties are out to fuck us over and - the question is, which will be worse... |

1 in 10 chance the Dims capture it . The demographics do not favor them being able to captue it this fall. Too much stacked against them.

Personally, I think the economy will be in better shape than Jay is assuming. I feel it is possible we will see the Repubblicans pick up as seat or too. More likely than losing the House. Alot of you are getting your panties in a wad way too soon. |
No they won't because the Dems are inept and even more corrupt.
Their hope is Barack Obama |
I can believe that! |
Their biggest failure in my opinion is being able to sway enough from across the aisle on numerous issues. |
Ding ding ding, we have a winner! |

it's going to be very close if things don't turn-around for us in the next few months
Doubt it. The Dim base is fed up with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. They won't kick them out because that would fracture their party and hurt the Dims. In reality the Dims are way too inept to capitalize on Abramoff, ect. The missed Fitzmas and it's all been downhill. |
maybe this is just my opinion. But it seems like regardless of what party gets put in power I keep losing rights.
I should have the right to do whatever I want as long as I am not affecting anybody else. This includes: Own whatever guns I want, whether full auto or lever action (democrats are currently fighting to take this right away from me and are succeeding one piece at a time) Pollute MY body however I see fit, whether cigarettes, alcohol, weed or whatever else (republicans are taking this one away from me) so as far as I see it, both parties want to take away freedoms, it's just choosing what freedoms you would rather lose. I can't win either way |
Did you perhaps consider the possibility that Congress has fucked up so badly that even conservative gun-toting Republicans believe that the Republican Party might lose its Congressional majority? Even Dick Armey has written an editorial in the WSJ in the last couple of months criticizing the current Republican "drunken sailor" budget approach, and warning that when Republicans behave like Democrats, Republicans lose. BTW, I don't have enough information about the "safe" vs. contestable seats available to make an edumacated guess at whether the RP will lose its majority in the House. I think it will lose some seats in both the House and Senate, probably down to 52 in the Senate. This will embolden the Democrats and prevent Bush from enacting much in the way of domestic reform in his last two years -- not that the dumb son of a bastard would bother really pushing for it anyway. |

As I look at the situation, and compare it to the historical results, here is where I came from, and remember, it is an analysis, not for any side:
Bush's actions, failures and creditability are being attacked. Americans are willing to oversee bad actions and failures, but tend to punish the presidency with the lack of creditability by oversighting him with a hostile congress. On top of that, the Republicans congressional leaders are doing more harm to themselves than good. Look at the recent change in both the House and Senate leaderships. Based on the above assumations, I would say the Republicans is going to lose either the House or Senate, with the greatest risk (my guess) being the Senate. Someone have to research how many Republican Senators are up for re-election as compared to the Demoncrats. I wish, and I hope, better news are going to come out (positive proof of OBL being killed by US troops, no more arrest please) inthin the next 6 to7 months, so to proof me wrong. Here are a few points to wonder: Bush's border action: Was it for business / cheap labor or was it for stabilizing the existing government of Mexico. If a civil war break out in Mexico, won't it put the border security at further risk? I would worry about the Canadian border more, but nobody was picking on that. Iraq and Afgan war: Was it going bad or the success is slow but not reported. Looking at the recent action of the bombing of the Golden Dome, the action from both side and casulties are relatively calm, everybody worries about a civil war there, but not much. One thing for sure, the media is trying thir best to force us to lose the war there. Business deals: Seriously, money greedy nations like UAE is going to risk future profits and let the terrorist or their equipment come in thru their ports? Besides, they are operating the ports not maintaining security over the ports. The fact that the low inspection rate is related to the shear amount of goods we import versus the amount of people DHS/CBP/ICE have to inspect the cargos. Katrins: Come on, the fact that the whole thing is almost over in less than 5 days is still a great repsonse, considering the scale of the emergency. There were no previous data on how to handle the situation, as a matter of fact, NOLA was they are always lucky. Sorry for the long rant... |

My sincere hope is that people can see through
the GW administration as being RINO, and, will vote for conservitive candidates. I think lots of ground will be lost. |
The dems taking control would be a major route and prepare for new restrictive federal gun laws.
It wouldn't surprise me if we did with as many fuckups and boondoggles that occur.
Coincidentally most Republicans serving in congress aren't conservative.....go figure. |
The way I see it the President is being bullheaded about too many things and is a RINO. The Rebublicans in Congress have been caught in a bunch of scandles, and alot of conservatives are pissed at there reps. I think it will be close but I would not be surprised to see us loose a few seats if not the house or the senate. I don't think we will lose both.
I think that in 08 the Dem's will definitely pick up either the house or senate, and the presidency. Especially if they do not run a N.E. wussie. If they get a charasmatic canidate from out side the NE I think they are a sinch to win. If they do run Hitlery who knows. I think she would have a good chance of getting the job. Who says she has to win fair and square? It is not important who the people vote for but who counts the votes. So Vote early and often! |
I think we'll keep Congress, but fully expect to get hammered in the '08 Presidential race. There's alot of disappointed Republicans, and if the Democrats run anyone except Hillary, they can capitalize big on it.
Exactly! We all should be very careful and observe what happens... |
RINO RINO RINO.
Everyones a RINO. The congressmen are RINOs The president's a RINO The senators are RINOs The governors are RINOs When are you going to wake up and face the facts? This is what the party has become, making US the RINOs. |
Democrats = Socialists nanny-staters
Republicans = Underachieving party of pork The GOP just needs a new leasder that is not GWB or McCain and the ship will right itself. GWB could get a wild hair up his ass and start acting like a Republican too, but unlikely. My reccomendation Repeal death tax Repeal capitol gains and taxes on investment Repeal GCA Bomb Iran into stone age (even farther) Assasinate Assaad and ilk (Syria) Lampoon McCain Advance non-bloated simple fair tax plan and dissolve IRS Deregulate energy industry Advance alternative sources of fuel Repeal gas tax Reforml ESA |
There are too many GLOBALISTS on both sides of the isle. The US is of secondary importance to them. They have an agenda, and until you realize this your co-called "conservative" politicians will continue to disappoint.
