Did anybody see the episode of One Tree Hill last night? Not that I watch the show, but while channel surfing I came across a "kid with a gun in school" scene and watched the show. (first time ever!! - honest!)

The episode was about a high school student (overweight, unpopular, male) that brought a handgun to school to, I don't know, get even? get attention? get respect?

The pistol appeared to be a High Power (or clone). Which, correct me if I'm wrong, is a single action semi-auto pistol, right? Well, 90% of the time, the hammer was down on the pistol which would indicate to me that the "jock" with the baseball bat should have dropped the bad guy. Or maybe even the only black kid in the room, a male that kept talking "yo dogg" and shit like that, should have punched the bad guy rather than the "jock" that was getting in the bad guy's face.

In the end, the bad guy killed himself with a single shot to the chest, but (hands on face in disbelief) a member of the school board (or mayor?) was in the school and picked up the pistol and killed another adult (bad guy's dad?).

Overall, I thought the show was contrived and lame with all kinds of "anti-gun" commentary and other nonsense about not having metal detectors, kids having rights, the school board is a bunch of bullies, the cops were impotent due to following rules, all the popular kids are mean and shallow and the unpopular kids are treated like crap by classmates and family alike, etc.

ETA - I found these little gems on the One Tree Hill website...

What do you think?

Last night's episode was really stressful! The end was really sad and shocking! I just wanted to say to Cherlyn from Richmond that when they showed a preview where Lucas & Peyton kissed, it was a shot from an episode from season 1, the one when Lucas goes with Peyton to see if her dad is dead. And when you said that in real life people move away and stay gone refering to Brooke, well she wasn't going for good, it was only for the summer vacations! I just wanted to make that clear for you. ps. The next new episode is going to be March 29!!:(

can you imagine my shock when Dan shoots Keith??i am still not sure that that happened, maybe it was in Dan's thoughts, the way the always flashback/imagine things. But i hope that he doesnt die. Im happy though that Jimmy didnt kill anyone else, not that am happy that he killed himself. and the part i liked most was when Peyton told Luke that she loves him and kissed him, just in case he couldnt keep his promise to get her out safely. i wonder what will happen between them after she gets better. I so want them together- i prefer Peyton to Brooke, though i'd want a guy who would pay full attention to Peyton. Hoping and praying that Keith doesnt die, that was a real shocker..lets wait and see.

My wife's sister had a gig working as an extra in backgrounds on that show for a season or so.  We watched an episode hoping to see her.  It was the most moronic show I have watched in years.  We decided we'd record future episodes and just fast forward to scenes with people in the background.  That show was BAD.  I actually felt myself losing IQ points just watching.

Never heard of it and don't feel I am missing out either.
