My wife and I just got done with a pretty cool convo about
songs and, artists.  We played "Name That Tune"...

.5 for artist
.5 for title

It was all about the 80s........

I totally smoked her.

She was amazed at the ammount of useless knowledge imacted in my medulla oblongata.

Obviosly it can't be done here......But do you remember songs and where you were at the time?

I thought I was the SHIT in Beaufort, NC.........Crusin' in my Mercury Zepher....."In the Air Tonight".......

Damn I was pimpin.

Ok,......Perhaps I expressed myself badly.

My wife and I had some fun characteizing songs.

In doing this, I was reminded of some songs.

Do you ever have songs that remind you of eras past?

Ok..Maybe it was a lame topic.  I had fun with my wife doing it, and, I though
maybe people here would reemmber songs and wehre they were from their youth.

I'm a bit confused now hehe...

Hmm, damn, can't remember much right now.
I've always been an Ozzy and Black Sabbath fan though.
New stuff just doesn't do much for me.

Yes, I can enerally remember what year a song is from based on memories.

In some cases, a song will remind me of a specific place, occurance, or person. Not all of them good.

Crockett on the phone with his wife before going off for the big bust.

The fact I've been seeing some MV episodes lately has me wanting a cool convertible. Sadly, I can't afford to DREAM about a Ferrari.

I correctly Identified 5 REO Speedwagon songs.

My mom, rest her soul, made me three linnen jackets. White, Grey, and Cream.

I was THE MAN! Girls loved them, too!

No joke.

I miss mom.

Every time I hear a certain song, it reminds me of my Dad.  Brings back a lot of emotions.

RIP Dad.

Mom was the best!

Yeah, the jackets were way cool. More often than not, some friend would come along and ask me to let her wear it that day. It became a bit of a sport to see who'd win.

Not that it got me any, of course. They were all friends.

Whenever I hear 70s ballads, I think of my childhood.  My next-door neighbor's mom always played the radio in the daytime in the summer and had her doors and windows open to air the house out.  While we were outside playing, we had a soundtrack of Seals and Krofts, Bread, Paul McCartney and Wings, etc...
Whenever I hear Van Halen's 5150 or OU812, I think of my college years.  Songs from those two albums were on the juke box at the snack bar where we hung out between classes and we played them all the time.

The only song that reminds me of my childhood was this song called "Bless You Boys" that they played on local radio in Detroit during the summer of 1984. That was the last time the Tigers won the World Series.

I can honestly say the Don Johnson look never did it for me...I was already interested in men in uniform thanks to Platoon and Tom Berenger...

Alas...he's fat now...

Is Don?

'American Pie' by Don McClean  is the first song that reminds me of my childhood. I stole the 45 off my elder brother who got it when an old girlfriend left it over our place.
I still have it somewhere...
