An older primer: http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa225.html REason shoudl also have some things on it. Stossel also did a very good report on it a couple years ago. Bascially it's taken your tax money and giving it to a business (who donated to their favorite poltician either directly or indirectly). |

I didn't read any of the links, but I disagree with corporate welfare so strongly I can't put it into words that are COC compliant.
Free enterprise should be the rule. You survive or fail on the decisions you make. |

That's when a business doesn't show a profit on paper (after the owners & board members draw their tremendous salaries, of course) so they cry poverty. They then get tax breaks and grants from the gov't to stay in business. I say hell no - let them close up shop - another company will come along to take their place. |
