Mine would probably be the COX, Line Control airplane my brother and I got for Christmas when we were around 11 and 12. We spent countless days at the school yard for hours on end flying those around and around.

I had the P-40 Warhawk, my brother had the PT-19 Trainer.

testors model cement glue ( & some matches

)
bags of green army guys ( giant bags of 100's guys were .59 cents at the local hardware - toy store )
me and my best friend next door each armed with our BBguns and air guns ( huge dirt clod mortars )

we would spend hours having mock wars between his army and my army in the huge field behind our houses.

I miss those days. Simple fun, no bills or responsibilities and not a care in the world.

Approx age I think was 7-8 years old.

well when I was 9 I got a single shot H+R 12 guage. I was allowed to go shoot on my own, and we had bunch of old washers and dryers and such. That was the best

My favorite childhood memory is when I got my first UZI.

seriously, got it when I was 12 or 13. Norinco clone..(

) but, still..a good uzi for a kid to play with.

Many many many turtles, jackrabbits, and cacti fell victim to my uzi.

Had this aircraft carrier that was about 4 feet long. It had lightweight foam corsair and a conveyor belt to launch them. I used to shoot these things down a hallway that was about 50 feet long. Was seriously cool.

For sheer bang for the buck probably nothing beats those water pressure rockets we used to launch in the yard.

You can buy an updated version - 3 bladed rotor complete with safety plastic ring around the blade tips for about $35. Vintage Vertibirds in the original box go for up to $800. I really have trouble doing VERTREP with the new one I bought thought.

Your parents bought you a toy bus?

I had the styrofoam aircraft carrier with the catapult that launched an F-4 up a line.
Once the F-4 stalled at the end of the line, it would turn around and fly back for a landing.
The end of the string was attached to a stick that let you guide the F-4 back for a landing.

Back when I was 6-8 years old, my younger brother and I got a pair of M1919's that shot plastic bullets and ejected a spent plastic shell casing. You would then reassemble the rounds, put them back in the plastic belt and shoot them again.

The irony of it was we were living in Kali at the time.

I had some awesome toy guns that looks real, took 10 round magazines, and fire these yellow rubber bullets (that looked like bullets). It worked on springs and you would pull the trigger and compress the weapon to launch the bullet. They would literally fly for about 100 feet pretty fast. I used to play "guns" with my friends for years and years. Go figure huh? Now I play with "real toys"

When I was a kid we were so poor that at Christmas time my father asked me what I wanted Santa to bring. I knew my folks did not have much money so I asked for something to wear and something to play with. They got me a pair of overall's with a hole cut in the pocket.

HOLY SHIT!! I had one of those. I totally forgot about it. I had so much fun with that thing.

We used to rig up Matchbox cars and catapult those off the ship.

Fond memories indeed.

I tried to collect every Stomper and Rough Rider they made, plus the "Devil's Canyon" and some kind of mountain with logs and "wooden" bridges.

Hours of fun, thousands of AA batteries.

Late 60's Mattel had a plastic version of the M-16 a1 that looked real. I had one and it was cool. when you pulled the trigger, it would sound like you were letting off a burst of automatic fire. It was the goods.

Also had a model from Germany that was a U-Boat. It was about 2 feet long and would float in our pool until the 2 foot destroyer model would motor it's way around. I weighted the U-boat just right, and it would dive at the right time to avoid the destroyer.

Full sized G.I Joe, with German WW2 uniform, MP-40 and all the gear!

..............those were the days!

I had the Super Soaker 3000... the one with the backpack. Nevermind the fact I could barely walk with it on, and I had to set the gun on the ground to pump it, but it was undisputed... I always had to be against the team that got the garden hose.

That and a Yamaha Banshee (fastest production four wheeler at the time) I convinced my dad we should buy used, an ex-race bike. I was around 15. I was just lucky my 110lbs didn't even have enough weight to keep the tires in place... or I'd be dead today! I couldn't even ride it hard enough it was so fast I'd foul plugs because I didn't ride it hard enough. I had to downgrade after about six months.
