I have a Netgear wireless 5 port, but it wont do it ..
I want an outside one

Well, you could try something like this -

They start to get expensive when you start getting into custom solutions, like directional APs and whatnot. A powerful SRX router like that is something that I would reccomend. It would be a little easier if you were to spell out exactly what you wanted to do a little more specifically. |

OK, I bought a house next door to my aunt....
I am going to well........ you know. anyways the connection is on the opposite side of the house in comparison to my future "office". I need something that will go from end of one house to end of other. My Neatgear aint got the range. SO I was looking for an inexpensive outdoor antaena that would get teh job done. Plus I can sit on my deck with the notebook and browse Arfcom and PROn sites

Ok, I see what you want to do now.
What is your budget? Just asking, cause this stuff can get real expensive. Most of the stuff I deal with is directional radios, which wouldnt work well for your situation, unless you mounted one on the aunts house, then a reciever on your house, and ran the cable from that into a wireless router of your own. I still think a long range SRX router would be your best bet. Even if you had to get a companion SRX wireless adapter, it would still be a lot cheaper than running a more powerful directional AP. |

parabolic antenna. sends the signal in one direction. Can make a simple one yourself out of half a pringles can, coffee can, cardboard covered in tin foil, etc. Google up parabolic antennas. They work.

The Tranzo TR-6019f would most definately cure all your ills (spendy though). We use Tranzeo stuff at work all the time, top notch stuff .

that aint too bad for teh Omni model.
Now I am sure that would let some of teh other neighbors use it too, thats ok. I am going to split the cable net. bill with teh Aunt. the db gain .... 9 or 12 ( I assume this is power/ distance.) which one 80-115 bux aint too bad.. You got any pull for a discount  lets say a 500 round can of 5.56 for a antanule

Which one, the Tranzeo stuff I linked to or the SRX router? The higher the Dbm, the higher the gain anteanna, not the power. All of the tranzeo radios on that page are 200milliwatt radios (the older 32milliwatt radios suck). That link takes you to the main page, the correct category is wireless, and then access points. The cheapest one that I was referring to is $321 |

I look at it this way, I am either going to have to spend $60 a month for broadband for myself, OR I can split it with her ($30 a month) get the $321 access point, and still make out $60 cheaper a year. And we both get hi-speed porno  THat Tranzeo looks llike the better deal |
