I know I should probally post this somewhere else, but i figured I would get more traffic here.

I am trying to help out a freind that is new to shooting.  He has got his groups down pretty good, but is shooting to the left.

What could be causing this?  I know shooting to the right can be from bad trigger discipline, but how about to the left?

Thanks everyone,

Travis

Assuming that he is right-handed, not enough trigger finger.

Could be anticipating recoil...could be poor handling of the gun, improper sight alignment, improper breathing, bad eyesight, shitty luck, it could be a number of things.

I'm not claiming to be an expert or anything, but I saw someone at the range with a similar problem a while back..and she shot a tight group, but all left of the center of the target. I kept watching, to see what the deal was, and when the pistol hit slide lock, she continued to jerk the pistol as though it was recoiling. It happens.

By this, do you mean physically not putting enough of his finger on/over/around the triger?

Cool chart...never seen it before.

For some reason I think it would be funny to use as a target.

If I had a bigger printer that's exactly what I'd use it for.

I don't think he is flinching since his groups are pretty tight.

Anybody else got a better explianation for too little trigger finger?

Btw, I love the chart, and thank you to everyone for trying to help me help a buddy out with this.

Thanks,

Travis

He's using too much of the tip of his finger.  He needs to bring his finger around the trigger more.
