Question.  What is that little dowhacky on the end of the barrel in this pic?  It appears to be a short piece of picatinny rail on which to mount an iron sight.  Am I right/wrong/blind or just dumb?  MJD

The M24 SWS has options for mounting front and rear iron sights in case the day (or night) optics don't work.

Being a sniper on an open ledge like you are back on the block is not very wise.

I hope this was here in the US.

No, it's in one of Sadam's palaces that the 101st Airborne turned into their HQ.

A lot of dead soldiers though history have thought the same thing.

Know what he's doing...he may "know" but he's not putting into practice what he SHOULD be doing if he is on overwatch.

Setting yourself up as a target in a two way shooting range =

Just because you have a "designation" doesn't mean you are brillant or are bullet proof. If I was in charge of him, I'd make sure he didn't do that again.

You read too quickly don't you?  I am not speaking of the iron site mount on the M24 SWS.  I was speaking of the FIRST picture.

I thought it was a blank firing device or one of those laser tag thingys used in training but was not sure how that fit into the sniper pics.  No I see it does not.

you're right, it's a bfa (blank firing adapter). just fyi, m-4 bfa's are yellow and the regular m16a2/a4 bfa's are red. a lot of guys paint them black, green, or tan for tactical effect while training.

ETA: oh yeah, cool pics!
