1987 Jeep Wrangler in-line 6 (I believe it's the 4.0L/258 ci), 138,000 miles, 5-speed, 4WD, fairly new 31x10.5 Conti-Trac tires, body in great shape.  Just a little rust around the windshield and in a very few other places.  I paid $500 for it.

Nice!!  Does it run well?  I had a budy buy an older truck for about 500 and he had to put a lot of money into to get it running right.

It runs great.  I bought it from someone I used to work with and know basically everything that was done to it.  New clutch 3 years ago, new brakes about the same time, new fuel pump last week.  I could drive it as-is for the next year and not worry about anything.

He knew he could get more, but his wife was pestering him about getting it out from under the carport, so he just called me and said, "Come get it."

Jeep with brushguards = $500
5 cans of chrome spray paint = $12

Getting drunk with your friends and playing parking lot pinball at the local mosque with your new Jeep... Priceless.

Very close.  It said BASSASSORGAS.  I had started removing the letters and the word GAS is gone.  I was hoping to avoid the questions on what it meant or said.

Dave15... I appreciate that you are genuinely looking out for my best interests, but I think I'll just live with my "mistakes".

If I brought home another Jeep...

Actually I just need a new windshield.  This one has a crack in it on the passenger side and I could avoid having to scrape off all the letters.

Since it's an '87 YJ, here are your specs.

4.2L 258 CID Inline 6 cylinder
5 speed Peugot BA10/5 which are expensive to rebuild. Plenty of choices for swappage.
New Process 231J transfer case with crappy rear slip yoke.
Dana 30 Front and Dana 35 Rear.

That's stock info unless anything has been changed.

Mine's an 88 and we share the same specs. Great deal you got IMHO.

That's my next picture post.  That's the floor for my new garage.

HighStrung1... I knew about the engine, but didn't know Peogot made the tranny.  And I figured a New Process TC, but didn't know the model.  Thanks for the info.

johnthreesixteen... I've had it 4 days and I've had offers on it.
