So today I run some errands for a few hours and I come home to this...

Seems as though my wife found some pink spray paint and decieded to give her 10/22 a paint job. Not too bad though, she removed all the metal, sanded the wood down, put 5 coats of pink followed by 5 of clear coat.  Appearently this has been an ongoing clandestine project for 4 days. I guess she got the idea from me painting one of my M14 stocks white (ya' know for when I go skiing )

But pink of all colors WTF? Oh well

now she needs a pink AR to go with it!

I'll have to remember that for my daughter. I think she would like it.

Well, the rifle will probably have some severe depression and will be the laughing stock of the gun safe for some time, but it IS a pretty good job (and actually rather appropriate, given the circumstances). All it needs is some flowers and "Barbie" written in purple on the stock.

That's your rifle and you painted it, didn't you?

That would make one hell of a photo!  A cute kid holding the rifle you describe would give the antis a stroke.

I was going to put a scope on for her, but she said "hell no!" this coming from a girl that has only shot maybe 10 times and can hit tennis balls standing all day at 50 yards

No matter how pretty the girl, I cannot condone doing such a thing to a firearm. Good thing it's only a Ruger.

Heay she did good. You aught to go make propeller noises on her tummy.

Here's what my wife did to hers with a woodburner and some paint:

That was taken on a ground squirrel hunt.

I think she did a great job painting that. Not my color, but she sure did a nice job. Wood stocks are nice for painting.

Now that's an idea.  I'm not into pink or purple, or whatever.  Maybe not even the flowers.  But that's an idea.

I have been thinking of painting one of my 870's black for crow hunting.  That is a nice job on the pink 10-22 and the other one.  Both of you tell your wives "Good job!"

That's the second time I've seen a picture of that BArbie-15... I know I'm going to regret asking this, but is it functional, it doesn't look like any of that plastic should be strong enough?!

It's just a refinished AR.  The butt and heat shields are the regular ones, but now in pink, the metal that's pink is just painted/coated, can't remember which.

Been done. Paging cduarte....paging cduarte.......

here you go, this was taken mere minutes ago...

here's the cute kid, otherwise known as the monster...

laser engraving is much classier than mere "writing"

many celebrities have been seen with the barbie-15, here are a couple you may know.

all this was made possible by many of the denizens of arfkom chat, notably brass and tattoo among others. Brass did the painting and most of the work,  tat made the custom laser engraved mag floor plates. I just provided the parts.

fyi, the rifle is fully functional and is currently equipped with an M-261 .22lr kit.
