For those of us in the Tidewater area of VA, the traffic reports everyday here about the tunnels are as follows:
Accident in tunnel Breakdown in tunnel Accident in tunnel Car fire in tunnel Accident in tunnel and on and on... I am so glad I don't have to commute to Norfolk to work. When these idiots approach the tunnel, instead of maintaining speed, they slam on the brakes. JUST KEEP DRIVING FOOL. |

Sure I can drive a tunnel. A TBM would be great but a good jumbo will work. If nothing else, a GD 83 jackleg will work but the progress slows down. How big are we talking and what about the muck? What type of ground support?

there must be a merge just before the camera that people are taking way too fast. Other than that I am dumbfounded as to how those accidents happened.
