Alright, tonight we have a nice dinner for the little miss and myself.

I guess I'll just get the pics out of the way first.

Cracked peppercorn encrusted fillet.

Searing for a good crust.

Every good steak has got to have a good sauce. Here it begins.

Now it's done.

The setup. She took my Sig, and I chose my 1911.

The finished fillet, cooked to perfection. The flash drained some of the color; it is medium rare at the most.

Dessert.

Guns:
Sig P226 9mm
Custom 1911 .45ACP

Salad:
Heart of romaine lettuce with minced shallots, grated parmesan cheese, ground black epper, and a simple sweet balsamic vinaigrette.

Main:
Beef fillet cooked rare (for her) and just under medium rare (for me) encrusted with cracked black pepper.
Port-cherry, balsamic reduction with shallots

Dessert:
Lemon bundt cake with meyer lemon frosting.

Drinks:
30yr-aged Presidential Tawny port with the beef.
Canadian ice wine with dessert.

Leaded beverages are kind of a dinner pic staple. Shit, unless you're an alcoholic I say they're required.

what about the tape measure, stapler and all the other stuff a dinner pic is supposed to have?

How can you guys give 10/10 without these other items?

Damn... I want to be invited next time. That looks amazing.

I think I'm going to have to talk to the wife about going to Ruth's Chris this weekend now.

ps... I'm not going to rip this one apart with the whole "rating scheme" simply because it looks so good and because it's obviously a dinner for you and your sweetheart, not a TV dinner-table meal.

Before the people who had to compensate for poorly cooked food added all that crap, dinner pics were: gun + food = dinnerpic

I chose not to do the bastardized neo-dinnerpic, and the guns are unloaded because there is alcohol involved (we don't want another "I dwew down on my TV" threads, do we?

Cooling off period that sucks ass.  I bought my last gun and was out of the store in 20 minutes that is from the time I walked in and said I will take that one, to filling out the paperwork calling in the check, and swiping my card.
