I have a 2003 Altima 2.5S.  About one month ago on a cold night (single digits) I was driving down the road, stopped at a light, it turned green and I pressed the accelerator.  Nothing.  Pulled over to the side of the road at a crawl and about 5-10 seconds later I touch the gas and I'm going again.  No problems for a month.

Last night I'm driving home, while going down the steet I lose engine power again.  Pullover.  Turn the car off, try to restart it nothing.  Wait two minutes, try again, starts right up and I go home.  Call dealer today and make appointment to take it in tomorrow morning.

Today, driving down the highway, it cuts out as I'm going 70 mph.  I wouldn't be driving, but my dog had surgery yesterday and the vet forgot to give me pain meds for him... so I needed to go.  Anyway, I put flashers on and as I'm moving onto the shoulder and slowing the engine roars back to life.  My foot wasn't even on the gas!

I got home and did a check on google and found this:

Second one in could well be my vehicle.  Even if this isn't the issue, might as well have it addressed while they are looking.

In any event, does my description ring any bells with issues you have dealt with?

When I purchased the car I did something uncharacteristic and bought a 10 year, 100,000 mile, bumper to bumper, zero deductable warranty.  I trust that the fuel system falls within this (well, maybe not the replaceable filter).

Fortunately I bought the car and warranty from the dealership manager himself, who is a very close friend of one of my closest friends, and his attitude has always been I have to take care of Andre's (my buddy) friends since they buy at least a dozen cars from me a year.  So I'm not anticipating any real problems over whether it is covered (I hope, crossed fingers).

I was going to try a couple cans of drygas, but to be honest.  I didn't feel safe driving it around until it had a chance to work...  I damn near got rearended on the highway when the engine cut out on me.
