If a date code is IB can someone explain that to me. What is IB and why is it so sought after?

Also what is a claw mount and what is it used for as far as the rifle goes?

Don't know about the date code, but the claw mount attaches to the upper receiver for mounting a scope.

claw mount     real german ones used to go for as much as $400.00  but now can be found for half that



the date code (total guess on my part) is likely the latest model imported to the us.

HKPRO   would be your best bet for answers all thinks H&K

The date coding system is very simple too.  It gets tricky when you start talking about non-proofed products like firearm magazines, but the general rule is thus:

A B C D E F G H I K
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

The letter corresponds to the number.  The letter 'J' is skipped for proofed firearms, but is present on magazines

IB would be "81", or manufactured in 1981.
