No those little poodle shooters are totally worthless, no one bothers with them anymore.

I do.... and carry it as well.... ( SIG 226 - winter and 228 in the summer). I trust my life with it.... If somebody tells you otherwise, they haven't seen someone get shot with a 9mm....

I'd prefer .40 or .45 but the Sig is a damn fine pistol; maybe if it were one of the hi-cap models 13-15 rds. .......9mm sucks, Sig rocks

Even as a dedicated .45ACP fan, I have a Browning Hi-Power and a SIG P226.
At the minimum, its a good survival-handgun caliber. |

It's probably a great price for a NIB Sig. 9mm may not be the biggest, baddest, man-stoppingest pistol caliber, but it's fun to shoot and cheap to practice with. I've got Hydrashocks in my XD9, but I don't know much about pistol ammo...I hear Speer Gold Dot and Winchester Ranger ammo is good stuff. |

EXACTLY, and since shot placement overrules caliber, I say a 9mm in the right hands will be more threatening than a .45 in the wrong hands. IMO |

It is a fun shooter; and cheap to shoot, also. The caliber argument rages...however, I subcribe to the PLACEMENT, PLACEMENT, PLACEMENT theory. |

I trust my wife's 239 with HydraShoks....her backup is a Colt Det. Spcl with +P .38 HydraShoks.
Shot placement is critical...so practice makes you better. 9's are fairly inexpensive so go for it-you can get VERY good shooting 9's. HH |

I have a Taurus PT92 and love shooting it. My dad had a Beretta 92 that I shot alot growing up and we had the M9 in the service. I still like the 9mm (even though I carry a .45). I don't want to get shot with one

A gun dealer told me once that you should always be able to buy ammo in 9mm, .40 S&W and .45 ACP. So, as a general rule, I would buy handguns in one of these 3 calibers.
Secondly, I have a Glock 19, chambered in 9mm. For me, 9mm is a very accurate round. This is very important, because I would rather hit with a 9mm than miss with a .40 or a .45. 9mm ammo is very plentiful and cheap. I bought some tonight at Gander Mountain for $10 per hundred rounds. While 9mm ball ammo may not have the stopping power that a .45 does, 9mm in JHP like the Winchester Ranger series (modern day Black Talons!!!!!!!!!) is very potent. Just to put this in context, I also shoot .40 and .45 caliber handguns. The ammo is more expensive than is 9mm. I am about as accurate with .45 as I am with 9mm. I am not that good with .40 for some reason. So, 9mm is a good way to go. Buy the weapon you like, get plenty of ammo, and go to the range and get good shooting it. In the end, you'll be glad you did. |

If that SIG is a 226, it's a excellent handgun...If it shoots anything like my p-220 I'm sure you'll like it Sigs are generally very accurate handguns, and very reliable. It should make a excellent CCW or home defense handgun. If it's like new then, that's not a bad price.

Found out some more:
The pistol is a P226, all metal frame, and was produced in the late-1980s. It is a pre-ban and has two hi-cap magazines (clips). It has never been fired. Price is $550. Good deal? |

9mm is fun because its cheap, still my 1911 is faster and more accurate but like the others said it makes a great SHTF pistol.

 No, you should NOT "consider it" You should just go ahead and do it. CDNN has used 9mm 226's for under $400. Good enuf for S.E.A.Ls , good enuf for me. Its NOT caliber - its shot placement. I like the opportunity to place more shots into fatal locations. |

Check it over. If it has never been fired(not hard to tell) it seems fair. I don't have any Sigs and am not terribly familiar with them but I would try to get them down in price some. Always. But I would probably buy it if I wanted it. |

I own a glock 19 9mm , a Glock 21 45acp, a P-64 9x18, and a S&W29 44mag. Which one do I shoot more from?

1IV is downplaying it, but remember.... shot placement is everything. A well placed 22 rimfire almost killed a president and pureed Jim Bradys mind. BOTH dropped like a sack of potatoes. |
