I usually just drink Bud. But thats gettign old.....I tried some Samual Adams and I liked that better than Bud....especially the Hefeweizen!
Rather than spending hundreds of dollars trying all the brands...I thought Id ask yall and go from there. So whats your favorite brand of beer and what type? |
Nawwww you can pick more than one. Just let me know what you like. Like i said.....Budweiser is getting old.....im ready to try something new...... imports, etc.
Dude, that's the fun part! |

+1
Trying them all and finding out what stlyes you like is the best part! |

Budvar - the original Budweiser!
Budvar's been made for hundreds of years in the Czech Republic. Brewed in Budweis (Ceske Budejoivce (spell check)) of which the German name = Budweiser. Bud in the USA was made in the 19th century by Adolphus Busch, who capitalized on the name recognition and trademarked 'Budweiser' after a famous and well known beer...in fact they have repeatedly tried to buy the Czech company. For the record, almost every little town there, like Germany, has a great little brewery and each beer is different. The Germans make pilgrimages by bus to various famous breweries; when the Germans think the beer is worth traveling for, that should tell you something! Anyway 'Budvar' cannot be sold in the U.S. as A-B has trademarked that name, too. Years of lawsuits. It was never available from the 1930s to after 1989, when the communist gov't. fell there - now it is imported as CZECHVAR So - seek it out. I'm not a 'beer snob' (does this exist?) but it is really damn good. There is a wine warehouse kind of place that allegedly sells it but it is always 'out.' Nothing's finer than a hot day in Europe, a liter of cold Budvar, and a pretty waitress. PS: I also like Guinness a lot, and I do like Sam Adams, too. Also, for the obscure category, Montenegrin 'Nik' from Niksic is pretty good. |

I had to quit drinking Budweiser. It makes me violent.
I guess I'm too old to enjoy going out and getting in fights and kicked out of bars. I drink Sam Adams light on occasion, now. Pretty good stuff. |
Blue Moon or Guinness, depending on the day. There are a LOT of close seconds. It's so hard to pick one or two as favorites

Domestic beer: I like Yuengling and Saranac Lager. But Saranac is more of a NY thing. If you can get it, it comes in a bunch of different flavors. Very good stuff.
For imported beer, I like Labatt Blue, of course Guinness because I'm Irish, and for the really exotic, Quak, a Belgian beer that comes in a liter bottle and is served in a glass that looks like lab equipment. Costs about $13.00 a bottle. It is tasty, though. |
Colt .45 in the 40 ounce bottle. Tastes like crap but it'll get you drunk quicker, leave you more money for guns and wraps nicely in a brown paper bag for concealed carry in urban in environments so you don't get hassled by the man.

Guinness and Yuengling.
I also enjoy Stegmeier 1857, which odds are nobody here will know. I'm thrilled to see so many Yuengling drinkers on this site. It's almost my hometown beer. I can still remember when you never saw it outside PA. |
I like Yuengling lager and Original Coors. I think those are pretty good for domestic beers. I hate Guinness, Killian's, and Dos Equis, wouldn't even touch them if they were free. I got some Stella Artois yesterday and that's good. A bit too sweet for my taste, but it definitely seems stronger than domestic. MJD

Victoria Bitters
Aussie VB Hahns But I can't get them here... So I too drink Yuengling. Good stuff...but not quite as tasty as the Aussie brews. |
Yay for Black&Tans, Guinness by itself is damn good too. |
Just bite the bullet and get you a twelve pack of Newcastle.
If I have the cash thats all I drink. |
Give this man the prize! Absolutely the BEST beer in the world. Hell, anything by Samuel Smith's is awesome, but the Oatmeal Stout is the shiznit. How do I know? Well, by my own count I have tried well over 1000 beers from all around in the world in my lifetime, and Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout keeps finding its way back into my hand and into my stomach. Goes great with food or by itself. |
Yes Yuengling is good Recently I prefer the taste of Ales beetr than a lager Brooklyn Brown Ale Long Trail Double Bag ( Stickbier ) 7.2% |
+1. Bass Pale Ale and Dos Equis Amber are duking it out for first place, with Heineken Dark waiting to take on the winner. Coming up behind are Tsing-Tao, Kirin Ichi-Ban, Becks, and a few others. Damn. Now I'm thirsty! |
It's a tie.
Franzikhaler (Spelling?) Hefeweizen and Spaten Optimator Don't care much for U.S. beer. |
Damn straight......very tasty. Beyond Guiness I like many other beers for different reasons. Any Hefeweizen is delish. Leinenkugel is good, as is Red Stripe. Also like Bud Select & Mich Ultra when I focus on quantity and not quality. |
I thought all you Texans drink Pearl. |

The one and only Bavarian Beer AUGUSTINER |
What ever beer I have made myself. I tend to make pilsners and ales. When those are not ready I drink Milwaukee Best
Nice delicious Bass Ale.
Guinness is tasty, too. Lost my taste for domestics a long time ago. |
I like Michelob Amber Bock and Anchor Steam the best. I'll drink about anything if it's cold, though.
+++++++1 |

Optimator is a very good Double Bock Not to expensive either. |

DAMN good stuff! It's a toss-up between that and Newcastle Brown Ale for my favorite. Belhaven Scottish Ale is another really good one. Oh heck. Now I'm thirsty and I'm stuck at work. |
