If by some miracle those numbers actually were picked as the winning ones, you'd have to split the jackpot at least 3-million ways.

Sheeeeeeeiiiiiiit!  I've been making a ammo order list since wednesday.  It will take an 18 wheeler to deliver my order.  Ammoman.com will have a heart attack when he gets this one.  I've been scheeming on how to get to order through Balistica Maximus too.

LOL.

Yeup, I hear ya. One can only imagine what it'd be like to place an order for 100 cases    of ammo.

Momma mia.

We should start a Team AR15.com lottery pool. $5 each, team members only. When we win, the cash is divided between those who paid in.

I   see the biggest problem finding enough banks(each only insured too 100,000.00)to put it in!!!

You gonna have 500 + bank ledgers(fill your whole front room up)cheque books everywhere!!!

Guess I would need help keeping track of all of it!!!

I would try though!!!

I thought the FDIC insurance was per account. So you'd just need a lot of accounts.

Anyway, with that much money you'd just hire somebody to manage it. Or put it in stocks, land, etc.

I'd buy a bunch of land, a swank house to put on it (SF style, of course), guns, ammo, and an armed APC or tank. Gotta have something to patrol the fenceline with.

On every lottery thread at least half the posters say something like "The Lottery is a tax on the stupid" I guess with $250 Million on the line folks start getting stupid in a hurry.....yeah I bought a few numbers this morning...Oklahoma just got Powerball in January so the novelty hasn't worn off yet

I'll never understand why people flock to buy tickets when it's this high, but when it's a "measly" 80 million or so it's not worth many peoples' time.

Thats what I had reference with ,you would need 5 (banks)accounts for 500,000.00 thats 1/2 mil!!

You will win over 100 mil(less  Uncles tax)you would have lump sum about 70 mil to laundry!!

You would need 700 accounts (don't forget the 700 cheque books) just to hold the money till you could put it where it was needed!!

You would probably want to donate a mil to the salvation Army, red cross, and the Cambodian Childrens fund right off the bat(just to keep them from camping out on your front lawn!!!

I have plans(IRA,trust funds, yada, yada, yada ,real estate)  and a much bigger house, somewhere in the Grand Titons just to hold my many newest best friends!!

Talking to my buddy tonight about the jackpot. He bought a ticket and asked "What would you do with $125 million?"

Hookers and blow, man. Hookers and blow.

Didn't factor that in, so I guess I'd have to settle for a couple Ford GT's, Russian T-72's, F-18's and Louisiana instead of a dozen Ferrari's, the ARFCOM Border raceway Highway, M1 Abrams tanks, some F-22's and the Texas border

My wife bought a ticket.

Here is how the conversation went:

Me:  If we win, I am taking atleast a million for NFA toys.
Her:  No problem, sounds like fun.  I just want a million in clothes.
Me:  Fine with me.

Well no one won it

his is getting really big :

$300,000,000 annuity
$145,700,000 cash
Estimated Jackpot
for 02/15/2006

Now that would be worth buying a ticket

I won three different times, but i still will not drive the 100 miles to claim the prize, with the price of fuel these days it would be crazy.

The odds for powerball jackpot are roughly one in 146 million. So assuming you take the annuity, and taxes of 50%, you are getting even money on all jackpots over $292 million.

Assuming no one else hits the same number. The odds of multiple people hitting the number and you having to split the pot would also need to be taken into account, but that adds a bunch more complexity to the problem. Then there are the lower prizes which make the even money numbers a bit lower, but not by much.
