I am writing a pro-gun paper on how our current anti-gun legislation has proven faulty and corrupt. I need Legitimate info from reliable verifiable sources, no fringe stuff. If any of you have any good info or can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

I am doing a paper on the same thing right now.  Here are some links that I have thrown together quickly.  Some may or may not be what you are looking for but hopefully they help.  Most of the sources are the DOJ, NRA or CATO institute

Man I am doing the exact same thing right now!

It seems like I have spent the last 2 months up to my nose in gun-control research.  Luckily, most of the scholarly studies point to the fact that gun control does not affect violent crime rates (surprise).

Anyway,  one of the best single sources for information (besides perusing through all of the college databases on the subject, and there are a TON of them) is through the Second Amendment Foundation.

Contact them and ask for a "student package".  They will hook you up with a buttload of pro-gun materials.  IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER ALREADY, BECOME ONE.  This is an outstanding organization that focuses on scholarly education about the 2nd Amendment and related issues.

Good Luck

A lot of things like the "sporting purposes test" originated in Nazi Germany.

Halbrook wrote a really well documented legal paper for The Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law called "Nazi Firearms Law and the Disarming of the German Jews."  It will provide useful background regarding how the laws we currently have stem from the same thinking and roots.  Someone once showed that a lot of the 1968 Gun Control Act was lifted verbatim from Nazi legal code.

Question: I keep hearing all these phony "statistics" about people "killed by guns". What's the truth?
Answer: Gun Owners of America (a splendid organization we encourage you to join) has the true statistics and their sources on their website at http://www.gunowners.org/fs9901.htm.
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1928, Germany established gun control. From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill, and others, who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1935, China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents were unable to defend themselves and were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1964, Guatemala established gun control. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1970, Uganda established gun control. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1956, Cambodia established gun control. From 1975 to1977, one million "educated" people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
That places total victims who lost their lives -- because they were unable to defend their liberty -- at approximately 56 million in the 20th century.
