good question... I can understand the web junky playing internet commando, but it's also prevalent at gun shows where many of those cretens don't have "them thar fancy compooturs". are we an anti-social bunch (generally)? I could see much of this stemming from a sort of social compensation... million bucks goes to whomever can answer why people feel necessary to lie about their lives |

I agree. There are two common evidences I've noticed in military posers / two main reasons they do it. 1. They are mentally unstable. Their insecurity reaches the point where they seek out recognition in order to somehow feel validated in life. 2. Criminal intent. Their motives are personal gain through deception. You have some regular joes who aren't content with their (self interpreted) mundane lives & need to feel "special." And you have those who try to gain trust & respect in order to profit from those who get duped. 1. Mental disability. 2. Criminal. |
