Just heard a fox news radio report about the jet that was diverted after a 'guy' hung himself in the plane's bathroom.

The reporter from fox started out with something like  "a plane was diverted after a guy was found dead in the plane's bathroom".  Later she described him as a '56 year old man'.

What's up with this dumbing down of the news? It's not the internet or a corner bar or casual converstation. If you're prepping a news report to be heard around the world, for pete's sake, try using profesional language.

Maybe fox news is trying to be like the fox TV network. Like on cops where the drugs always belong to 'some guy'. Pretty soon it will be "A dude hung himself on a plane".

End of rant.

We are a nation that each year produces fewer and fewer MEN and more and more "guys", "males", "big boys" and "otherwise gender-neutral Y-chromosome reproduction units".

As my senior drill instructor used to say, the only proper use of the word "guy" to describe someone of the male persuasion is when "talking about someone from the Bay Area".
