In response to the thread about the generator I began to wonder just how much you guys spend on your power bills and what kind of dwelling is it?
Mine's a 3br college apartment,  pay from 75-95 a month.
it got up to 150-160 when my old roommate had like 4 computers running all the damn time...

$50. 1,000 sq ft apartment, and the heat never goes on because my roommate's a cheapass and doesn't chip in. So he gets to freeze.

Last months was just under $200 for a 1500 sf ranch home.  It was about 50/50 gas/ electric.  My mother in laws was a little over $300 in a 3500 sf farm house.  Of coarse she is older and likes the heat up around 75 during the day and 70 at night.  Since she is across the street from me, I am able to go over and start a fire in the wood stove to help keep it down.  Who knows what it would be if I didn't.

Used to be around $50 in the fall/spring, and I think the highest was around $100.  That was in an 800 sq ft apartment.  My new apartment is a bit bigger, 960sq ft inside.

I think I'll get off my dead butt this time around and get a programmable thermostat.

$70 for my 812sq ft 1 bed apartment.  All electric, attached garage that sucks heat too.  Cost should go down a bit this month as I am using my fans to circulate air and have lowered the t-stat be 5 degrees since.

My natural gas bill last month was a little over $450.00. 2,500 ft center hall colonial. My electric is about $75.00 a month in the Winter, but about 2 1/2 times that when running the AC in the Summer. Time to look for a smaller house. It's too big for just me and the Lab.
