I spent time with the 25th in there LRSD unit. If you want to have some fun while your there get your self a mountain bike. There are some great places to ride out on the east training range. The old tunnels from ww2 are great to ride in with no lights lol.

Waimea Bay on the North Shore. Awesome place to body surf. See all the sights, Make the most of your stay there. You will miss it when you leave.

That's where I was stationed.
Hawaii is great if you have a little free time to enjoy it.  Check out the Pali Lookout, definitely climb Diamondhead and if you are into snorkelling, go to Shark's Cove in Waimea and check out the coral reef there.

Thank you for your service.

Don't worry...The party starts soon enough!

In all seriousness...........

Take every chance you can to go to civilian school.

One promotion point per credit hour is the highest payoff
in the promotion point.

Make finding out how to sign up for classes a higher priority
than partying.

Sign up for .mil correspondence courses.  They easy promotion points, and,
they're pretty easy.  Find somone who's taken a course, and, get the answers
from him, and then, do one he hasn't done and return the favor.  They're free, too.

Avoid the urge to move out of the barracks if you are in them.  Eventually you and your
buddies will think how cool it would be to have your own place.."Dude!  If we split the rent on that three bedroom place, like four ways..We could totally do it!"

Don't.  Save your money for school or a good laptop or somthing useful.

Resist the urge to buy a car.  Buy a bike.  It will get you where you need to go,and,
many places you just WANT to go.

Have fun.  Party, but, don't give in to the urge to blow all your money on stupid stuff.

Good luck
